1. Photos of you skydiving/bungee jumping/wrestling sharks don’t really help a person make a decision about you
2. Including photos of your exes in your photos is also a pretty bad idea…
3. …as is making a reference to them in your profile eg’I hope you won’t steal all my books like my last boy/girl friend did
4. Talk about your preferences but don’t go into too much detail, they don’t know need to know what side of the bed you like to sleep on just yet….
5. Do make an effort though, profiles that read ‘I’d just like to meet someone’ don’t tell prospective partners about you or what you are looking for
6. Everyone enjoys a DVD and a bottle of wine now and them but besides being an alcoholic Barry Norman, tell them what else you like to get up to
7. Oh, and everyone likes to travel too, so don’t feel moved to list your travel CV since the age of 7, we get it, you like holidays!
8. Try and use a photo that has been taken within at least the last two years, failure to do so can see you prosecuted under the Sale of Goods description act (not really but you know what we mean)
9. Talk more about what you do want rather than what you don’t want, it makes you sound a lot more positive
